Hi! Welcome to our home. It is over 100 years old. We did a complete DIY remodel starting in 2008 and lasting through 2011.
We purchased our home in 1998 and always planned on buying something different down the road. As time went by we dreamt of all the things we could do to our home. After several years of looking at other homes in the community we decided we really liked our home and yard. It was one of the few homes in town with a double lot and a flat yard with plenty of room to park our camper. So I got to work using Excel to graph out our ideas and after several adjustments we settled on a layout we liked and got to work.
I spent a lot of time looking at blogs and HGTV Rate my Space for decorating and layout ideas. Paint colors are always so difficult to choose. I researched and found some of the most popular colors from around the net. We painted every room with Sherwin Williams paints. All of our rugs are from Kohl’s. The furniture and carpet is all from Nebraska Furniture Mart. All of the light fixtures are from Menards.
The entryway is Kilim Beige and the door is Sundried Tomato inside and out.
The Dining Room is Latte. The drapes billowing out from the air conditioner are from Lowe’s.
The living room is painted Nomadic Desert with Sommelier as an accent wall. The drapes are also from Lowe’s.
The pantry is SW Kilim Beige with white painted shelves. We used the same counter top in the pantry as we have in the kitchen. For more about our pantry go to this post.
Still to come- Our master bedroom is Kilim Beige with Hopsack as an accent wall behind the bed and Hopsack is in the master bath.
