There are two Tulip Festivals in Iowa, one in Pella and one in Orange City. I’ve been wanting to go to one for years, recently we finally made it happen. When the day came the kids were busy and couldn’t come and it was kind of rainy but we decided to make the trip anyway and had a lot of fun.
We were there in the morning so some of the food vendors weren’t open just yet, but they all had really cute vending trailers.
As the name would suggest, Windmill Park had many windmills and places for photo opportunities.
There were many bleachers and stands lining the streets to watch the parades and an excellent sound system that allowed you to hear the announcements from any of the main street of activities. Orange City is a beautiful community with many businesses and Northwestern College, one of the top Christian Colleges in Iowa.
On the way home I found that there were numerous flea markets along the way to Sioux City so we stopped at many of them. It was fun to have a day with just my hubby casually checking out the sites without having to rush from one place to the next.
